Music lessons for schools in Sunderland.

Musical Mates Ltd has taught music in Sunderland schools since 2011. We work with more than 30 primary schools and academies across the city, Washington, Houghton-le-Spring and Hetton-le-Hole, so we know the local trusts, timetables and funding routes. Every teacher holds an enhanced DBS check and is observed twice a year.

What Sunderland schools get

  • Whole-class ensemble teaching on violin, ukulele, keyboard, guitar, drums, brass and chalumeau, with instruments included
  • Small-group and individual lessons, with ABRSM Music Medals and graded exams for pupils who want them

Good to know: our lessons sit alongside Sunderland Music Hub provision, and Pupil Premium can be used to subsidise lessons for disadvantaged pupils. Instruments are loaned free of charge, so every pupil can take part from day one.
